Location & transport links

Wadebridge is the central point of access to the Camel Trail whether you want to head to Padstow for some Rick Steins fish and chips or cycle your way to Bodmin to take a wander around Bodmin Jail. It’s such a great location with so many local amenities to enjoy.

The A39 allows you to travel to many destinations on the North Coast, access to the nearest beaches are within 10-15 minutes, Polzeath, Rock, Daymer Bay. Wadebridge is the gateway to other local towns such as Padstow, St Columb and the village of Port Isaac. There is a local Bus Station with a variety of routes available and the nearest Train Station is Bodmin Parkway which is approximately 10 miles away.

Wadebridge has a great selection of unique coffee shops, pubs, bars and restaurants and even includes a cool little cocktail bar Rhubarb & Sage! There are a wide selection pubs to choose from, serving superb food, accompanied with great local ales and local wines. For a fine dining experience, you can enjoy Bridge Bistro serving delicious mouth watering food, alternatively the Stepping Stone tucked away on a side street, both using the best local Cornish produce.

For a night in you have a selection of Thai, Indian and Chinese restaurants to choose from all serving takeaways and all boast their own restaurants if you fancy eating out. The Raj Indian is simply one of the best curry houses around and offers a superb range of freshly cooked Indian cuisine. The Dancing Taipan is popular for its Chinese and Cantonese food, also a mainstay of the local heritage! There are plenty of coffee shops including Relish, one of the very best!

Local amenities

Wadebridge has its own butchers, fishmongers, greengrocers, bakeries and a range of small artisan shops. The town is also home to a variety of supermarkets with a large Co-Op, Tesco, Aldi and a Marks and Spencer Simply Food, giving the discerning groceries shopper plenty of choice!

The main town centre includes a Post office, selection of Banks, Pharmacies, two Doctors surgery’s and three Dental practices. There is also a Library and a Cinema which is a great place to enjoy a movie on a rainy day. With a selection of pre-school nursery’s, 2 primary schools and a large secondary school, all rated by Ofsted as good, Wadebridge is a great place to bring up children.

Just on the outskirts of Wadebridge you will find the Hawksfield complex, an exciting hot spot on the Cornish Atlantic Highway (A39) between Padstow and Wadebridge.
