Tempted by a St Ives address? ‘Tiddles’ could be your new property by the sea!

Here at Harding Laity we are firmly invested in the belief that gorgeous properties come in all shapes and sizes, and Tiddles certainly proves us right!

A bijoux bolthole tucked away in the pretty backstreets of St Ives, this one-bedroom character cottage maybe compact but it’s certainly a tempting prospect.

With a fantastic location for exploring all that St Ives has to offer throughout the seasons, we know that Tiddles will be toddling off to new owners very soon…

Firstly to whet your appetite, a little more about that fantastic location. St Ives itself is a timeless haven for culture vultures, foodies and beach lovers.

Every year this Cornish coastal town attracts large numbers of visitors, keen to swim in turquoise waters, explore winding backstreets, and visit the enticing restaurants, shops and galleries.

A big part of the attraction are creative institutions like Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum & Sculpture Garden; the latter is right across the road from this property, which is currently a successful holiday let.

Dame Barbara Hepworth was a pioneering British sculptor who worked at her St Ives studio and garden from 1949 until her death in 1975. Many of Hepworth’s seminal works are situated here, and the garden and museum are a major highlight for many visitors to St Ives – as well as academics studying Hepworth and her significant contribution to British modernism.

From the pretty doorway of ‘Tiddles’ you can also be on Fore Street, with its many alluring boutiques, or on the bustling harbour front within moments. The beaches of the town are all within easy walking distance, and there’s plenty of inspiring galleries to visit too.

The cottage itself is stylishly decorated and beautifully maintained, with care and attention given to every detail. Practical design helps maximise space, while bright white ceilings and walls bring plenty of light into the cottage without masking its original character.

We love the dramatic contrast of the black metro tiles in the kitchen against those crisp white walls – a design feature which is cleverly carried through into the property’s fabulous modern bathroom on the first floor.

Features in the living room include a great little window seat and wood effect flooring. Meanwhile, upstairs the comfortable and spacious double bedroom offers a delightful glimpse of Smeaton’s Pier.

This stylish one-bedroom cottage packs a punch with the benefit of a fantastic location and easy maintenance This established holiday let provides a great opportunity for eagle-eyed property searchers!

What Did We Miss?

  • Access to the rear of the property is through a double-glazed door in the kitchen, which allows maintenance at the back.
  • There is a cobbled pavement at the front which serves to set it back from the street, with space for pots and window boxes.
  • Cars can access Ayr Lane via the town’s one-way system with Barnoon Car Park just a short stroll away.
  • The Allotment Deli is nearby and stocks fresh produce, store cupboard supplies and local delicacies.
  • A central location within St Ives, set back from the main street, close to amenities but away from the hustle and bustle.
